Problem:

  • After the installation of the Samsung UnifiedLinuxDriver CUPS is not able to print something on your Samsung printer.

Solution:

  • Go to the directory /usr/lib/cups/filter
  • Set the owner of all files (including the directory filter) to root:root
  • Change the permissions to 0755 (-rwxr-xr-x)

  • There are also open source Linux drivers available: foomatic, splix
