Adobe Acrobat Reader dispays strange font instead of Arial font

Problem:

• Adobe Acrobat Reader (acroread) does not dispay the Arial font. Instead of using a similar (free) font it uses a totally different font type.

Solution:

• Install the package ttf-mscorefonts-installer from the deb-multimedia mirrors.
• This package downloads and installs the Microsoft True Type Core Fonts for the Web.
• After installation the fonts should be available in the following directory:

/usr/share/fonts/truetype/msttcorefonts/

Note:

• It can take a while until the Acrobat Reader recognizes and uses the new fonts.
